Abstract

The present review paper investigates the reorganization and reconstruction of the social ties in the modern digital societies as the digital technology has revolutionized the ways of connections, interactions and other forms of relationships through focusing on the role of social relationships, social networks and social interaction. This study examines systematically the relationship between various digital platforms, social interaction and interpersonal relationships in contemporary era. The paper summaries the dual nature of digital connectedness, emphasizing the advantages of accessibility & inclusivity and various social challenges of condensed relational deepness and algorithmic mediation through the analysis of the theoretical frameworks and empirical studies. The findings of the study stress how the digital networks have reshaped the deep intimacy, social capital and the societal norms along with the consequences for technology design & the social well-being. Directions are also suggested for future research to tackle the emerging technologies & the cross-cultural perspectives.
