The study investigates the threats and challenges to China’s interests following the Taliban’s resurgence in Afghanistan. It argues that China’s current limited approach is inadequate and must be expanded to include both Afghanistan and Pakistan, as potential risks and opportunities are interlinked across all three states. The analysis highlights that a trilateral framework of cooperation is essential for addressing terrorism, stabilizing the region, and safeguarding China’s broader connectivity initiatives. The study concludes that sustained collaboration among China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan can mitigate security concerns, promote regional stability, and contribute to long-term economic prosperity.
