BRICS as a Platform for the Global South: A Critical Analysis

Abstract

BRICS, an acronym representing Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has emerged as a large platform for the Global South to collectively address its challenges and aspirations on the worldwide level. The grouping, which become mounted in 2009, has due to the fact that increased to include six new contributors - Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates - further solidifying its position as a voice for growing countries. One of the primary motives for BRICS' enchantment amongst nations inside the Global South is its commitment to selling a more equitable and inclusive worldwide order. The bloc has constantly encouraged for reforms in global establishments, which includes the United Nations Security Council and the World Bank, to better replicate the pursuits and views of growing nations
